Privacy Policy

1. Local app data

Pretio does not require a Pretio account. Your core shopping data remains on your device unless you choose to use Compare Online, create a backup, export a file, restore a file, or otherwise share data using your device's system features. Compare Online is optional, internet-dependent, and does not run until you select the Online action for a product.

2. Backup, export, restore, and deletion

You can back up Pretio data, export saved product and price-history data as CSV, and export a Shopping List receipt as PDF. A receipt PDF may include the store name you enter, shopping-list items, quantities, prices, subtotal, tax, discount, currency, date, and calculated total. Pretio writes these files only when you choose an export and select a destination through Android's file picker. Once a file leaves Pretio, the storage provider, destination app, or person receiving it may process that file under their own terms and privacy practices.

You can use Delete All Data to remove products, saved prices, your shopping list, stores, and related local records from the device. App preferences such as language, theme, number format, currency, and text size may be preserved as described in the app.

3. Compare Online

When you select Online for a product, Pretio creates a Google Shopping search query using the current product name, the saved brand when available and not already represented in the product name, the saved package size when available, and the word “price.” That visible query is sent to Google over the internet, and the Google Shopping results page is displayed through an in-app web view.

Pretio does not include your saved price history, stores, notes, shopping list, backups, exports, or locally calculated Best Price in the Compare Online query. Best Price is calculated from your local Pretio records and is not obtained from Google.

Google may process the search query and technical information associated with the request, such as your IP address, device or browser information, cookies or similar technologies, account state when signed in, and interactions with Google Shopping or Google Search, according to Google's policies and your Google settings.

Google-owned shopping or search navigation may remain inside Pretio. When you select an external result, Android may open the destination in a browser, system chooser, website, or compatible marketplace app. That destination may process information under its own privacy policy. Pretio does not control the destination's data practices.

Pretio does not scrape search pages or write visited URLs, search-result content, online prices, or online offers into Pretio's product or price-history database. The web view, browser, Google, Android, or destination service may still retain technical browsing data such as cookies, cache, history, or interaction records under their own controls and policies.

4. Location and local catalog relevance

Pretio uses the country selected for your Google Play account to choose country-level catalog content, Product Highlights, and the supported location directory. Pretio obtains this country from Google Play Billing configuration. This is your Google Play country, not a measurement of your current physical location, and it may differ from the country where you are physically located.

Pretio resolves Google Play country for each app session and does not store the Billing configuration result as a persistent Country setting or future Country authority. For app functionality, Pretio may cache country-specific Location V2 directory content locally and persist country-scoped canonical identities for selected provinces, states, regions, cities, or municipalities. On a later launch, Pretio resolves Google Play country first and then validates saved subdivision identities against that country; cached directory content and saved subdivisions cannot establish Country. This information is not used to create or enhance a user profile or for advertising or marketing targeting. Country is not manually editable in Pretio.

You may select a province, state, region, city, or municipality within the current Google Play country where supported. If you choose to grant Android location permission and explicitly request approximate location, Pretio may use foreground approximate device location to refine province or city within the same Google Play country. Approximate device location does not override the Google Play country. Pretio does not require background location or precise location for these features.

Pretio does not use a dedicated IP-geolocation service to determine your country and does not send a country-detection request to ipapi.co for this feature. Google Play and other network services may still receive ordinary technical network information, such as your IP address, under their own policies when your device communicates with them.

Pretio retrieves its supported location directory and catalog directory from Max-Q Studio web resources. The current country, province, or city context is used to decide which catalogs and Product Highlights are relevant. A supported location may have no available catalog or Product Highlights yet.

Pretio may also download supported remote language packs from Max-Q Studio web resources when you choose a remotely delivered language. These requests may expose ordinary network information, such as your IP address, to the hosting infrastructure. Pretio does not upload your local products, saved prices, shopping list, notes, backups, or exports as part of a language-pack download.

For Compare Online, Pretio may use the current location context, such as country, province, city, language, or currency, to localize the visible search experience. Pretio does not need to send raw device latitude or longitude to Google Shopping for this purpose. A website opened inside or outside Pretio may have its own separate geolocation request and privacy practices.

5. Advertising

The free version of Pretio may use Google AdMob to display banner advertisements and rewarded advertisements. A rewarded advertisement is shown only after you choose to watch it, for example before an eligible saved-data export or Shopping List receipt export.

Google Mobile Ads technology may automatically collect or process information such as:

• your device's IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
• app and advertisement interactions, such as app launches, taps, and video views;
• diagnostic information about app and advertising-SDK performance; and
• device or account identifiers, which may include the Android advertising ID or app set ID.

This information may be used by Google for advertising, analytics, security, and fraud-prevention purposes. The exact data handled can depend on the SDK version, your device settings, region, consent choices, and the ad-serving mode.

6. Consent and privacy choices

Pretio may use Google's User Messaging Platform to request, store, and update advertising privacy choices where required. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or unavailable.

When required, Pretio will provide a Privacy Options entry in the app so you can review or change available advertising choices. You can also manage or reset your Android advertising ID through your device settings, where supported.

7. Notifications and inactivity reminder

Pretio may ask for Android notification permission. If you grant it, Pretio can schedule a local inactivity reminder on your device approximately 72 hours after the app is opened, reminding you to review saved prices and plan your next shopping list. Opening Pretio again resets that reminder schedule.

The current inactivity reminder is scheduled locally on the device using Android notification functionality; Pretio does not use a Pretio account or remote push-messaging service to deliver this reminder. If you deny notification permission, the reminder is not scheduled and Pretio's core features remain available.

8. Rewarded export

For free users, Pretio may require a completed rewarded advertisement before an eligible export. Current eligible exports include saved product and price-history data as CSV and a Shopping List receipt as PDF. Pretio uses the rewarded-ad completion and dismissal result only to decide whether export authorization is granted.

Pretio does not send the contents of your exported CSV or PDF file to the advertising provider as part of this reward flow. This includes your products, saved prices, stores, notes, shopping-list entries, store name, tax, discount, and calculated totals.

9. Pretio Premium and Google Play Billing

Pretio Premium may be purchased as a one-time product through Google Play. Google processes the payment. Pretio receives purchase and entitlement information needed to determine whether Premium features should be enabled, such as product identity, purchase status, and verification-related information.

Pretio does not directly receive or store your full payment-card details. Google may process purchase information under Google's own terms and privacy policies.

A valid Premium entitlement removes Pretio's banner ads and the rewarded-ad requirement for supported saved-data CSV exports and Shopping List receipt PDF exports. If a purchase is refunded, revoked, cancelled, reversed, or cannot be verified, Premium access may be removed.

10. Third-party services

Depending on the features available in your version of Pretio, third-party services may include Google Shopping results served through Google Search, Google AdMob, Google User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing, Android link handling, web browsers, marketplace apps, and destination websites opened from Compare Online. Google Play Billing may also provide the Google Play country used for Pretio's country-level local relevance. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

11. Data security

We take reasonable steps to keep Pretio's local-first design and monetization integrations separated. However, no device, storage method, network transmission, or third-party service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Your choices

You may:

• use available privacy and consent controls in Pretio;
• allow or deny Android notification permission; denying it disables the optional inactivity reminder without blocking Pretio's core features;
• manage advertising settings on your Android device;
• choose not to use Compare Online;
• deny device-location permission and continue using the Google Play country for country-level relevance;
• select or change province, state, region, city, or municipality manually where supported; the country itself follows your Google Play country and is not manually editable in Pretio;
• use Google, browser, and Android privacy controls where available;
• choose not to watch a rewarded advertisement;
• purchase Pretio Premium, where available, to remove Pretio ads and avoid rewarded-ad requirements for supported exports;
• delete your local Pretio records using the app's deletion features; and
• contact us with privacy or purchase questions.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Pretio features, advertising technology, purchase processing, legal requirements, or third-party services change. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised date.
